Quality Control Lab Technician

Schoolcraft, MI

Job Responsibilities
  • Completing lab testing and provide administrative support for quality systems.
Duties
  • Perform routine and non-routine chemical and physical product analysis.
  • Collect production samples.
  • Retain product samples.
  • Communicate analytical results with production.
  • Complete data entry for testing results.
  • Maintain electronic and physical documentation for lab testing.
  • Send out micro samples, as needed.
  • Calibrate analytical equipment, as needed.
  • Complete any necessary physical analysis.
  • Manage and complete all annual, quarterly, and monthly testing.
  • Support production needs.
  • Tracks and maintains calibration records for critical laboratory and plant (scale) equipment.
  • Complete scale verification, as needed.
  • Completes and assists with any additional tasks or projects, as assigned.
  • Maintains regular consistent and professional attendance, punctuality, personal appearance and adherence to all relevant policies and procedures.
  • Other Duties as assigned.
Minimum Job Requirements, Skills and Qualifications
  • Strong sense of customer service and meeting customer demands.
  • Strong sense of detail, objectivity and accuracy.
  • Working knowledge of JRUSA products and plant operations preferred.
  • Two years equivalent job experience preferred.
  • Able to communicate effectively to all levels of the Organization.
  • Adept in use of MS Office, particularly Outlook, Excel, Word and ideally Power Point to a basic level.
  • Able to perform basic business math calculations.
  • Flexibility to adjust schedule as needed to meet business demands.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Interactions and Tools/Equipment Utilized in the Job
  • Interacts with all internal departments and manufacturing plants on a regular basis (telephone, e-mail, fax, mail, summary reports).
  • Utilizes standard office equipment and computer workstation.
Physical Requirements

The job requires sitting, standing, walking and occasional climbing in a production environment. Typing and viewing computer screen, occasionally for extended periods of time. Some lifting (50 lb or less) is also occasionally required.

  • 8 hour shift Monday - Friday.
